What I Got In The Mail

Yesterday, I opened the mailbox to find my first Terry catalog. Talk about bike porn! I have checked out the website, which is terrific but I love to have a catalog to hold in my hand. I know it's strange but I like to read magazines and catalogs in bed and it's a little hard to do with a computer since I only have a desktop.

I love that this company combines athleticism, comfort and fashion. Some of the other catalogs have only a page or two of womens products and they aren't all that exciting but this is a company by a woman for women. Georgena Terry started building bikes in her basement in 1983. She is the original when it comes to WSD. If you dismissed them because you thought it was all lycra, it's time to re-think. I might even have to get a second job because if I could, I would order one of almost everything.

I've been trying to resist the urge to buy or make bicycle-themed clothing and jewelry... But I did have a dream that I walked into a meeting, took off the blazer of my formal suit, and underneath I was wearing a top that said "Steel is Real". Yeah...

I saw an organic cotton t-shirt in the Terry catalog that I could wear to work on casual day. Trying to promote cycling in any way that I can to my co-workers. I love the "Steel is Real" idea. I have a couple of friends that I'm working on shirt ideas with for bikes and VW's. We'll see how it goes.

I'm totally checking this out. The stuff in yesterday's post was wicked cute, too, BTW.

I'm going to do another post about the Terry Catalog because not everything is bike themed. They have some really cute street clothes, as well.
